standard common decency applies. i do not want to see anything homophobic, racist, transphobic, ableist, classist, cissexist or anything else out of character. if you use any slurs, you will get one warning, then banned (on all of your accounts). swearing is fine, but be aware of peoples' sensitivities. no rape culture, gore, violence, or anything generally fucked up. trigger warn (in the post title, as the thread progresses as well) if you are going to post any of the above content, in or out of character.
respect others. respect pronouns. respect is key to people working together. if you have a problem with another member, contact an admin immediately.
graphics are allowed. do not stretch the boards. all graphics that do will be removed.
ads belong under the advertisements under the right sub-boards.
be active at least once a week if you can. college gets in my way and i don't know what gets in yours, but it is unfair of me to expect more from you than that.
proboards has a pg-13 rating just so you must be over 13 to join. nevermore itself is more for mature audiences, but if you're going to get graphic, talk with one of the admins first. we have another site for mature topics (like graphic anal sex or decapitation). on all threads be sure to edit the first post of the thread with more content warnings as it goes along. it may not start out graphic, but make sure to warn as it does. you can also post the rest of the thread on the mature site as a "part two" kind of thing so you don't have to move the whole thread over. try not to be too explicit on here or proboards will basically fuck us over and shut down the site. do any explicit roleplaying off-site or skirt around it. this also includes graphic violence.
four characters is the limit. they must all be active and fully-developed, otherwise you lose your most recent character and back. if you wish to have more, you must contact an admin. your characters' play-bys have to be racially diverse as well as the species and gender. that way, we can make sure we have a diverse environment instead of 50 cis white guys running around. we will judge hardest during the application process, but it's just to make sure you have a good base to build on.
when doing your application, make the subject for the post your character's last name in all caps, and their first and middle name in lowercase (LAST, first middle). fill out claims after your character is accepted. each character only gets one account. your name on your account should be your character's first, middle and last name in all lowercase (e.g. gene joe smith). applications can be a work in progress for a week, then will be denied. they will be denied for three days, then added to the archives. you can ask an admin to pull the application out of the archives, but you only get to do this once per character.
no metagaming or powerplaying. not even for silly jokes. just avoid it at all costs. keep your character knowledge separate from your personal knowledge of the plot or other characters and do not attempt to control another person's character unless the author says so.
if there is a battle or something needs to be left up to chance (e.g. your character resisting the change into wolf form) we will follow d&d rules. if you do not know how that works, contact an admin and they can either walk you through it or determine the outcome for you. always talk to an admin once your character gets into a fight or a battle. a minor scuffle is up to you, but if it requires actually taking some one down, an admin needs to be contacted.
write in third person. if you want to use a different point of view, let an admin know first. word count is 100 words. this will change if we feel the need. we are focused on quality, not quantity. match what your partner gives you. do not reply to a 1,000 word post with 100 words. try to gauge by paragraph size. characters must be accepted before posts are made in or out of character on the account, aside from canon reservation and the actual application post.
the in -character chatbox is not to be used in a way that replaces actual roleplaying. it is encouraged that you use it only for quick roleplaying to make your character more developed or test out the chemistry of characters together without committing to a full thread. no heavy plot things will be counted if they take place in the ic cbox. if you abuse the ic cbox, you will get blocked from it until the admins feel you've reformed.
