Humans are the most prominent species not only in the Nevermore area but in the world. A human can be born with or without the ability to see through fey glamours and magic, which is called the Sight. The lack of Sight is more common, as typically only red-heads and a seventh child of the seventh child are born with it. A way you can obtain the site is by soaking your eyes in water a faerie has bathed in or slather the spit of one into them. Looking through a stone with a natural hole in it or obtaining a four-leaf clover will give you the Sight as long as you are using them. Humans are the only species that be can be turned into vampires or therianthropes or have children with therianthropes and fey.
Sweet tooths were once humans, but have since been stolen away by faeries using food, magic, and seduction. Some are taken away for sexual reasons, others for political. They are distinctively malnourished, constantly drugged, and abused. They can be devilishly clever, but not very wise. That's what ended them up in the courts in the first place. Their ages vary from infants to the elderly.
Bred for killing all creatures that are not human, these hunters have developed into something not quite human themselves. They are resistant to therianthropy, vampirism, and their blood has high iron contents to help fend off fey. They are designed to be killers and will stop at nothing to ensure the human race is safe. Due to select breeding, they have a natural inclination for hunting from birth and are stronger and more calculating than typical humans. Creatures can detect hunters through smell or aura and they have yet to figure out how to mask it. It is only in close proximity with creatures, so from a distance they cannot be detected. Ranks in order of influence and power: apprentice, field agent, specialist (teaching positions), captain, brigadier, general, director
